Harold M. Cox, 74, of Rockford, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on November 15, 2012, surrounded by his family. Born on July 16, 1938 in Weiner, Ark., he was the son of the late Lucian Alfred and Viola (Sargeant) Cox.
A lover of life, Harold enjoyed Fishing Tournaments with his son Steven. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan.
He owned Safford Signs before retiring in 2001 and then he worked for several years for Enterprise Rent A Car until June, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl; his daughter, Cindi (Bo) Pittman; sons, Robert, Steven (Holly), and Cory (Karin); brothers, Delbert (Janiece), Gerald (Janet); sisters, Marie Henderson, Wilma Hurley, and Lois (Gil) Kratzner; grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Kitra, Kila, Hannah, Taylor, Lauren, Calvin, Karsen and London; and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, infant son, Anthony; brothers, Robert, Cecil, Leroy, and John; and his sister, Beatrice.
Private Memorial Service scheduled at a later date. Services are entrusted to Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be submitted at www.advantagerockford.com.

My heart goes out to you at this time for your loss. After losing my Mother just a little over a year ago, I can relate to the sorrow and pain that you must be feeling. Harold will be missed by many. God bless you all.
