Arrangements under the direction of Coble-Ward-Smith Funeral Home, Supply, NC. Mr. Harold Lewis Gerard Sr. 78, of Baker Drive, Supply, NC, died Tuesday, November 3. 2009, at his residence. Harold was born October 6, 1931, in Patchogue, New York, the son of the late John and Jennie Stumme Gerard. He was a member of the Peace Memorial mIssionary Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean conflict and a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Ruth Nettles Gerard of the home; a son Harold L. Gerard Jr. and his wife Diane of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters Sandra Perriera and husband...

Mr. Harold Lewis Gerard Sr. 78, of Baker Drive, Supply, NC, died Tuesday, November 3. 2009, at his residence.

Harold was born October 6, 1931, in Patchogue, New York, the son of the late John and Jennie Stumme Gerard. He was a member of the Peace Memorial mIssionary Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean conflict and a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Ruth Nettles Gerard of the home; a son Harold L. Gerard Jr. and his wife Diane of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters Sandra Perriera and husband Robert of Homosassa, FL, Darlene Holland of Placerville, CA; a brother Warren Gerard of Long Island, NY; three sisters Jean Zielinsky of Supply, NC, Lois Hallock of Colorado, Carol Ferrante of Long Island, NY;five grandchildren, Lisa Perriera, Justin Gerard, Kimberly Gerard, Christopher Perriera, Donny Holland;and four great-grandchildren, Liam, Alana and Timmy Gerard and Amaury Sawyer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2009, at Peace Memorial Missionary Baptist Church by the Reverend Hoyt King. The interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Peace Memorial Missionary Baptist Church tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and have requested that any memorials be directed to the Peace Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 5811 Ocean Hwy. East, Winnabow, NC 28479 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
