Obituary

Harold R. Jones, age 94, of Lockport, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane. Born October 18, 1917 in Lyndonville, NY, he was the son of the late Rosinas V. and Mabel L. (Corser) Jones. Harold was a graduate of Lyndonville High School. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army from 1945 until 1946. Harold married Joanne E. Rhodehouse February 14, 1948 in Lockport. Mrs. Jones died September 19, 1992. Harold worked at Harrison Radiator in the shipping and receiving department for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed the Sunday night Bowling League at Transit Lanes...
Harold R. Jones, age 94, of Lockport, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane. Born October 18, 1917 in Lyndonville, NY, he was the son of the late Rosinas V. and Mabel L. (Corser) Jones.

Harold was a graduate of Lyndonville High School. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army from 1945 until 1946. Harold married Joanne E. Rhodehouse February 14, 1948 in Lockport. Mrs. Jones died September 19, 1992.
Harold worked at Harrison Radiator in the shipping and receiving department for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed the Sunday night Bowling League at Transit Lanes in Lockport, collecting old books and prints, gardening and line dancing with Dotty. Harold lived in Niagara and Orleans Counties all of his life.

He is survived by his children R. Harold "Butch" (Margaret) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA, Dianne (Dave) Johnson of Niagara Falls of Lockport, Elaine (Paul) Schwartz of Newfane and Erick Jones of Olcott. He was predeceased by 3 children: Ralph, David and Rebecca Jones. Brother of: Wilbur Jones of Long Island and the late Clara Carpenter, Morgan Jones, Floyd Jones, Harriet Dujenski and Frank Jones. Five grandchildren, seven great grand children, and many nieces and nephews also survive Harold. He was predeceased by a great-great granddaughter, Serenity.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Friday from 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11am with David Pritchard officiating. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
