HAROLD LEON RALSTON, 76, of Fort Wayne, went to meet the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2012, at Parkview Hospital. Born May 28, 1936, in Huntington County, he was the son of the late Frank Ralston and Gladys (Rittenhouse) Ralston Bowman. "His greatest joy in life was his family and actively serving at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him." He served his country in Vienna Austria under the Volunteer Brethren Church for several years rebuilding a school that was destroyed. HAROLD LEON RALSTON, 76, of Fort Wayne, went to meet the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2012, at Parkview Hospital. Born May 28, 1936, in Huntington County, he was the son of the late Frank Ralston and Gladys (Rittenhouse) Ralston Bowman. "His greatest joy in life was his family and actively serving at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him." He served his country in Vienna Austria under the Volunteer Brethren Church for several years rebuilding a school that was destroyed. He worked in a tomato factory as a young man and then worked for GE where he retired from in the late 1980's. he continued to work for his father - farming and ended his career as custodian for First Wayne Street United Methodist Church and continued as a volunteer. Surviving are his four sisters, Carmen (Jerald) Vaught of Angola, Gloria (Jim) Hudlow of Bedford, Ind., Ladonna (Robert) Jackson III of Fort Wayne, and Wanda (Terry) Helser of Scheneous, N.Y.; and Marvin (Linda) Ralston of Fort Wayne. No funeral service. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 E. Wayne St., Fort Wayne. Pastor Greg Enstrom officiating. His ashes will be given back to the earth at a later date on the banks of the Wabash river below the dam with the family. Memorials to Easter Seals and First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
