Tate, Willie Harold, Capt USN (ret), age 83, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. The son of Isaac and Mamie Tate, he was married for 50 years to his high school sweetheart Dorothy Hintson Tate, who preceded him in death. Harold Tate is survived by his daughter Ivey Tate Brown (Gregg), and two sons Kenneth L Tate (Annice) and Charles E Tate (Christina), two brothers James and Roy Lee Tate and 4 grandchildren: Molly Tate thoesen (Paul), Kathleen Malone (Chris), Rachel Brown, and Judd Brown. The owner and operator of Birmingham Two Way Radio for 30 years; he retired from the US Naval Reserve after 45 years, 4 years during the Korean War, with the rank of captain. He served as the president of the Naval Air Reserve Patrol Squadron Association. Services will be held at Southern Heritage funeral home on Sunday, February 9, 2014, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 on Sunday before the services.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Tates passing. He gave me my first real job @ Birmingham Two Way. During the 5 years I was there ,we spent many hours together working on customer sites and in the office under hoods and floor boards. Even to this day I think about him often and the lesson learned while working with him Ray and Charlie.
