Obituary

H. Franklin Hostetler Jr. age 89, passed away August 2, 2014 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Huntington, PA. the son of the late Helen Boyer Hostetler and Harry Franklin Hostetler, Sr. and was raised in Lewistown, PA. Frank enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Purdue University. Frank began his career with Sohio in Cleveland, Ohio where he met his wife of 63 years, Ruth L. Hostetler who survives him. He went on to earn a master's degree at Case Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering and an MBA at CWRU. Frank retired from Brush Wellman. Frank lived in Pepper Pike since 1959...

Frank enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Purdue University. Frank began his career with Sohio in Cleveland, Ohio where he met his wife of 63 years, Ruth L. Frank lived in Pepper Pike since 1959 and served as a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America of the Greater Cleveland Council. He was also a member and former Chairman of the Cleveland section of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Cleveland Hts. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed gardening, local wildlife, and was a train enthusiast.
Frank is survived by 3 children: H. Franklin (Camille) Hostetler III , Deborah (Thomas) Schlesinger, Doug (Eileen) Hostetler , 5 grandchildren: Kurt (Kim) Schlesinger, Kimberly Schlesinger (Andrew) Vaughan , Jacob Hostetler, Sarah Hostetler and Bradley Hostetler, and 2 great grandchildren: Jack and Caroline Schlesinger. He was preceded in death by his sister Rose Jane Hostetler Bradshaw and her husband Thomas Bradshaw.
A viewing and service will be held in Lewistown, PA followed by his internment at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Nook, PA.
