(Chip) Reed, III; four daughters, Anne Tennant West (Jim), Marcia Arnold Potempa, Rosalind Marie Carter(Stewart Wingate), and Lilia Victoria Pendergrast (Michael), nine grandchildren and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Harry was a graduate of Central High School, attended MS State and after the war, attended Louisiana State University, where he received his BA degree in Business. He was a lifelong fan and bled purple and gold.

Harry volunteered for military service in 1943 and trained as a heavy bomber pilot. During his sixth mission on May 24, 1944, he was forced to bail out over Austria after his plane was hit by enemy fighter aircraft. He was taken prisoner and spent a year in three German POW camps, the most notable being Stalag Luft III, the site of the famous "Great Escape".

Harry worked for years as a salesman for various Memphis businesses. He read profusely and favored books about Napoleon Bonaparte, the Civil War, American history, and especially military generals.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 South White Station, Memphis, TN.
