Obituary

Harvey C. Lauterbach, 92, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, February 13, 2013 at his residence.  He was born June 11, 1920 in Peoria, County, Illinois.  He was the son of Claus E. and Margaretha (Tholen) Lauterbach.  He married Edith M. Rosenbohm on May 22, 1943 in Seattle, Washington.  She preceded him in death on November 15, 2012 in Peoria, Illinois. He is also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Harvey C. Lauterbach, 92, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, February 13, 2013 at his residence.  He was born June 11, 1920 in Peoria, County, Illinois.  He was the son of Claus E. and Margaretha (Tholen) Lauterbach.  He married Edith M. Rosenbohm on May 22, 1943 in Seattle, Washington.  She preceded him in death on November 15, 2012 in Peoria, Illinois. He is also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.



He is survived by four children, Melvin (Joyce) Lauterbach of Bartonville, Illinois, Robert  Lauterbach of Dwight, Illinois, Wanda (Dave) Lane of Mapleton, Illinois, and Gladys (Dan) Sanders of Charlotte, North Carolina.  He has ten grandchildren surviving, Douglas (Darlene) Lauterbach of Mandeville, Louisiana, Suzi Lauterbach of Bartonville, Illinois, Scott (Sara) Lauterbach of Crescent, Pennsylvania, Andrea (Scott) Myers of Plymouth, Minnesota, Shelly Lane of Bartonville, Illinois, Melissa (Paul) Waterman of Dubuque, Iowa, Matthew (Kelley) Lane of Bartonville, Illinois, Brian, Kevin, and Kimberly Sanders all of Charlotte, North Carolina.  He also has 14 great grandchildren. 



Harvey was the past president of Lauterbach Lumber Company in Bartonville, retiring in 1977.  He was a master carpenter, woodworker, and a land developer in Bartonville in several areas.  He was a Director of Bartonville Bank for 40 years.  Harvey was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Bartonville American Legion Post 979 and the V.F.W. Post 3883.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Bartonville, where he was a former church council member, served on the building committee when the church was built, and sexton of the church cemetery for 22 years. 



A visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, February 17, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville.  Funeral Services will be Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Michael S. Jones and Pastor Paul Park will officiate.   Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the church cemetery fund or Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation.  You may create an on line condolence at www.davison-fulton.com.
