Heath was one of the those people that you didn't have to know long to love him. Heath and I had lost touch over the years but I was blessed with the opportunity to see him a couple weeks before he passed. We picked up right where we left off like old friends and I'm so thankful. Doug and Brenda, you're son was light in the darkness. It's been 4 years but I still think of him often. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

His monument turned out very nice. When I look at his monument I think of the Vince Gill song "Go Rest High on That Mountain". The chorus says it all "go rest high on that mountain, son your work on earth is done"....
Buddy, till we see you again "go rest high on that mountain"
Love ya! Mom

MOM

I started this 10-04-13. Wanting to remember Heath and his life. I had so many thoughts in my head. I didn't know where to start...It's now been over a year, he would have been 28 on the 9th, still miss him, still look for him to come through the door and say "hey mom", still want to feel his hugs, still doesn't seem real. But, the Lord has given us strenght to get through this past year. He has put family and friends in our lives for a purpose. When I say strength from the Lord I not only mean directly from Him but through our family and friends. It was never a coincidence when one of our family or friends would invite us over or say the right thing at the right time. God was using them to help us. We are so blessed! Feeling very emotional I need to remember where Heath is. He is in Heaven, ALIVE in Heaven. This is the way I think of it, when Heath took his last breath on earth he took his first breath in Heaven. Beacuse a decision Heath made when he was about 13 we have the assurance of where he is.There are no words that could describe the peace and comfort it has given us knowing Heath is safe, has no worries or tears and walking the streets of gold. He is just waiting.I'm going to try and add some pictures. I have more to write with the pictures. So there may be more than this post.
If anyone has memories you would like to share we would love to read them or see pictures.

Heath, words can not express how happy I am to call you a friend and the memories I have from spending time with you, Blake and Mikey. You always knew how to make someone smile and laugh. You were hands down the best friend anyone could ask for!! You will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotten.

October 8, 2012

Dear Brenda and Doug, some people live a long earthly life and never really "live", while others, like Heath, live a full earthly life in a short time.....because they are born unto parents who dearly love them, nurture them, and they have extended family and friends who surround them with love........and good times. This is the life..........A WONDERFUL AND FULL LIFE.........with which Heath was blessed. Words cannot soothe your pain, but we pray that you will find peace in knowing that Heath had a better life than most people, and it was because of your good parenting and tremendous love. We all have to say "goodbye" to one another in this earthly life, but truly there is so much more than "this" so, though difficult, keep your chin up, stay strong, and no you won't understand the "whys" but you'll feel peace just knowing this child was dearly loved, he knew it, and one day you will see your dear Heath again. Steve and I miss you, and please know we are a phone call away. Friends, Linda and Steve Perry
