In Ruediger Elementary's first year, I was in First Grade with Mrs. Grissett. Don't remember much about that year, but she made such an unforgettable impression and I will love her always.

Mrs. Grissett was a great advocate of educating our young people about the importance of the history and natural world in the "Big Bend" region of Florida. She served as the director of the Tallahassee Museum during its formative years, helping the institution move forward while she touched the lives of so many children an adults. She lived an exemplary life for all to see and was an inspiration to so many.
Condolences to her family. She was a gentle force of nature. Mike Jones

Mrs. Grissett was a very special lady. I still have my Tallahassee Junior Museum card and remember her fondly. As a former media specialist in Tallahassee, I remember how she worked diligently to get Treasure Chests for teachers to enhance their lessons. She will be missed.

Dear Edward,
As you know, your mom was so special to me. When your dad passed away, you and your mom came to stay with our family for a while. Your mom often told me that during this time when I was just a toddler, I would crawl down the hall in the night and curl up on her lap. She would rock me and said I was such a comfort to her. As I became older and experienced sadness and personal struggles within my family, often my only comfort was a visit to your mom's home. We would hug and she would comfort me. I am so fortunate to have had her in my life. She was the ultimate teacher, friend, and second mom. She was such an inspiration to me. I will cherish every fond memory. Love to you and Cindy. Please stay in touch.

Edward,
I was so very sorry to hear of your precious Mom's passing. I remember your mom from when my dad, Sam Alderman was the principal at Ruediger Elementary School. My mom Carolyn Alderman also taught with your mom. Sending hugs and prayers to you and your family during your time of grief. Be Blessed. Your mom taught many people in Tallahassee, and will be missed in our community.

Helen Grissett is my unforgetable friend. Our time together was so richly filled with shared memories and love of family.
She made our early adventures at the Junior Museum while decorating display windows or setting up for first Market Day, such fun.
In later years it's been a blessing to share a love of reading poetry and working crossword puzzles with Helen Even though our daily visits will be missed, the joy of having that time remains Helen always had sweet words and expressed her love for my daughter, Cindy and son Scott, and that's one of many ways she touched my life and is in heart as a part of family.

Eddie, I was saddened to read of the passing of your wonderful mother. Your dad was my DCT teacher and I was your sitter when we all went on their trips. She was a great friend and loving listener. I loved our times together at the Junior Museum when she talked of you and your dad and she talked to my two year old about the the amazing things he would learn with her.

Mrs. Grissett I sure do remember all the fun, loving , unforgettable times. You took care of me when my Mama had surgery over 40 years ago. You and Edward spoiled me with attention. I loved the chickens you gave me from the Jr. Museum I lovingly named after your son King Edward I, I and III. I had so much fun either at your house or at the Jr. Museum. I'm truly blessed to have such memories of you and Grandma Turner. I carry those warm memories and have shared them with so many others.
Edward, you are so in my thoughts. I pray for you to hold on tight and cherish the memories. And know what an impact both your parents made on Tallahassee
I will love you forever Mrs. Grissett ♡
