Helen J. (Hoopingarner) Allen, 97, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012. She was born on February 7, 1915 in Allen County to the late Roy and Gola (Smith) Hoopingarner. She worked for GE, "Square D" coil factory in Markle for 15 years, and as a grocery clerk at Gaskills & Richardson Grocery Store in Zanesville. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church-Uniondale, Wells Community Hospital Axillary, and Eastern Star. Surviving family include her daughter, Janet Briner of Bluffton; siblings, John (Lorene) Hoopingarner, Marjorie Rabel, Dale (Miriam) Hoopingarner, Don (Marlene) Hoopingarner, Ron (Beverly) Hoopingarner; 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by a sister, Betty Gemmer, and a daughter, Brenda Bradburn. A funeral service will be 10:00 am on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church-Uniondale, 5912 North Sugar Street, Uniondale with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-8 pm on Friday, September, 21, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church-Uniondale. Burial will take place at Hoverstock Cemetery.

Dear Janet and family, The Lord is with you in your loss. You all are in our thoughts during this time of loss. What a wonderful life she lived though she had here share of heartake. She is now joined in heaven with her loved ones. We are all better off for having known her.
