The family of Helen Adams of Halifax is saddened to announce the passing of their loving mother and grandmother on June 11th, 2013, at the age of 95. Helen was born and lived all her life in the north end of the city. She was a survivor of the Halifax explosion. Helen spent her working career as a monotype operator for MacNab print in Halifax. However her most important job was taking care of her grandchildren that she started at age 66. This was the highlight of her life and she loved them so much. She was so happy, proud and fortunate to be at all the important events in their lives. She was a lifetime member of St Margaret...
The family of Helen Adams of Halifax is saddened to announce the passing of their loving mother and grandmother on June 11th, 2013, at the age of 95.

Helen was born and lived all her life in the north end of the city. She was a survivor of the Halifax explosion. Helen spent her working career as a monotype operator for MacNab print in Halifax. However her most important job was taking care of her grandchildren that she started at age 66. This was the highlight of her life and she loved them so much. She was so happy, proud and fortunate to be at all the important events in their lives.

She was a lifetime member of St Margaret of Scotland Church and was a faithful parishioner all her life. She loved to play cards, especially 45's and played with several different card groups up until the age of 91. Helen spent the last 2 years at Ivany place in Bedford where she was loved and so well cared for.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Bunny (Hugh) of 23 years. She was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Wellsley and Winnifred Bremner; brothers Roy and Jack Bremner and sister Kitty Cox. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Paul Boutilier, grandsons Michael of Halifax, Brian of Mexico, Kevin of Halifax.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Ivany Place especially those in Maritime Hills for the exceptional and loving care Helen received. She was made to feel very special.

Visitation will be at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Friday, June 14 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will take place Saturday, June 15 at 11 am at St Margaret's of Scotland on Robie Street. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society.
