Helen "Ilene" Milam Adnet Helen "Ilene" Milam Adnet passed away on August 4th 2012, in her home, near Colorado Springs, with her loving husband, Jacques Adnet, at her side. She was born on January 4th 1928, to Byron and Lillie Milam, in Eastern Texas town of Canton. At the age of 16, she graduated from Garland High School, Texas and attended Draughon's Business College. In Dallas Texas, she was employed by Ideco, an oil platform manufacturer, for 26 years. As executive secretary, she worked for Bill Clement, who later became governor of Texas for two terms and served as Deputy Secretary of Defense. On November 3rd 1990, she married...

Helen "Ilene" Milam Adnet passed away on August 4th 2012, in her home, near Colorado Springs, with her loving husband, Jacques Adnet, at her side.

She was born on January 4th 1928, to Byron and Lillie Milam, in Eastern Texas town of Canton.

At the age of 16, she graduated from Garland High School, Texas and attended Draughon's Business College. In Dallas Texas, she was employed by Ideco, an oil platform manufacturer, for 26 years. As executive secretary, she worked for Bill Clement, who later became governor of Texas for two terms and served as Deputy Secretary of Defense.

On November 3rd 1990, she married Jacques Adnet, a retired Air Force research and development director, and a former member of the teaching staff at the Air Force Academy. The ceremony was held at the Community Chapel at the Air Force Academy, and they made their home in unincorporated El Paso County just north of the Academy.

Her family survivors include her husband, and two of her five brothers: Dean and John Milam.
She was preceded in death by her father, Byron Milan, her mother, Lillie Milam and three brothers: Garth O. Milam, Norris B. Milam and Muncie D. Milam. Survivors also include her husband, her nephews……. her nieces….and their children, as well as her stepchildren, Denise Adnet of Longmont, CO, Lisa Adnet of Spokane, WA, and Paul Adnet of Palmer Lake, CO, and three generations of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a very special person, with the charm of a southern lady, one who was loved by all.
She enjoyed learning arts and crafts, traveling in Western Europe and North America, and in ballroom dancing until restricted her participation in these activities. She also assisted her husband in the redaction of the first volumes of his memoirs.

Until illness restricted her activities, Ilene attend church service regularly at the first Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.

Services will be held on August 18th at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the .
