PRINCETON – Helen Naomi Akers, 90, of Princeton, WV, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, April 19, 2011, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 22, 1920 at Dott, WV, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd Richard Taylor and Lillie Belle Broyles Taylor. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mrs. Akers was a very devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Willard Akers in 1968; three sisters, Virginia Mae Jennings, Margaret Louise Williams and Donnie Pauline Hoye; one brother, James Robert Taylor, whom she adored. PRINCETON – Helen Naomi Akers, 90, of Princeton, WV, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, April 19, 2011, at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born July 22, 1920 at Dott, WV, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd Richard Taylor and Lillie Belle Broyles Taylor. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

Mrs. Akers was a very devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Willard Akers in 1968; three sisters, Virginia Mae Jennings, Margaret Louise Williams and Donnie Pauline Hoye; one brother, James Robert Taylor, whom she adored. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include her two loving daughters, whom she cherished; Carol Jean Smith and husband Larry, and Phyllis Ann Akers, with whom she made her home; a precious granddaughter, Teresa Ann Bell and husband Joseph; two great-grandchildren, Stephen Andrew Bell, her "Young Man", and Sarah Elizabeth Bell, her "Little Princess";
two special nieces, Rita Dillon and husband Charles and Medee Thornton; one special nephew, Jerry Williams and wife Murdy.

Mrs. Akers will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A special "Thank You" to Dr. Michael Remines and staff, Dr. Rowena Chambers and staff, Dr. Gene Duremedes and staff, and Dr. Stephen Blaydes and staff, for the caregivers throughout the years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV, with Reverend Joseph Bell officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
