Helen Carole Forbes DeBerry, 69, passed away, Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey Dozier Forbes and Marguerite Pugh Forbes. She is survived by her daughter, Julia DeBerry of Raleigh, and other family in Chesapeake, VA, as well as the counties comprising Northeastern NC. Helen was a beautiful Southern lady who had a heart of gold, met no stranger and loved everyone. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University and was employed with the NC Employment Security Commission. Helen Carole Forbes DeBerry, 69, passed away, Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey Dozier Forbes and Marguerite Pugh Forbes. She is survived by her daughter, Julia DeBerry of Raleigh, and other family in Chesapeake, VA, as well as the counties comprising Northeastern NC.

Helen was a beautiful Southern lady who had a heart of gold, met no stranger and loved everyone. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University and was employed with the NC Employment Security Commission. She retired from her supervisory position in 2004 and enjoyed her retirement years immensely. She was a wonderful mother and awesome friend. Helen was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh and Shiloh Baptist Church of Camden, NC.

The first of two memorial services will be held in Raleigh on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Forest Hills Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
