Helen "Johnnie" Elizabeth Rahn, 94, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Johnnie was born August 27, 1922 in Garwin, IA; the daughter of Harold and Myrtle (Dunne) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Orlo John Rahn in December 1943 in Davenport; he preceded her in death in 1992. She had worked in the business world as a secretary for 10 years then retired to be a "stay at home" mother to her two daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family. In her free time she enjoyed: traveling, swimming, reading, crocheting and was an avid puzzle person. She loved playing her electric organ as well. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Davenport where she loved her church and her church family dearly. She served as Past President of the Monroe PTA in Davenport and Past Treasurer of the Davenport Council of PTA and did other volunteer work as well. Helen and her husband, Orlo, were avid fans of the circus. She once rode an elephant in a red sparkly outfit in the Ringling Brothers Grand Parade. Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Victoria (Elmer) Henning, Coal Valley, IL and Robin (Sam) Nielsen, Davenport; grandchildren: Kimberly (Dan) Behnken, Patricia (Bradley) Ellis, John N. Nielsen and Kate C. Nielsen, Tara Allen; great grandchildren: Dayton Ellis, Riley Ellis and great grandchild, Eve Ruiz; brother, C. Robert Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, sister, Mildred Haanel, brother, Gordon, nephews, James Haanel and David Johnson preceded her in death.
