Helen J. Shaffer, 73 of Huntington passed away at 8:19 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital. Helen had worked at M & S Sheet Metal since 1974, retiring in 1994. She loved to spend time with her dog, "April Joy" and she enjoyed doing word search puzzles. Helen was born on April 20, 1939 in Huntington, a daughter of Leo E. and Dorothy M. (Deeds) Keplinger. She was formerly married to Robert L. Shaffer. Survivors include her mother: Dorothy M. Keplinger of Huntington; a daughter: Rebecca J. Shaffer of Huntington; a sister: Ruth M. (James) Finton of Fort Wayne and a grandson: Nathaniel Shaffer of Huntington. Visitation...

Helen was born on April 20, 1939 in Huntington, a daughter of Leo E. and Dorothy M. (Deeds) Keplinger.

She was formerly married to Robert L. Shaffer.

Survivors include her mother: Dorothy M. Keplinger of Huntington; a daughter: Rebecca J. Shaffer of Huntington; a sister: Ruth M. (James) Finton of Fort Wayne and a grandson: Nathaniel Shaffer of Huntington.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.

Memorials can be made out to The Shaffer Family in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
