Helen Wesselman, 92, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013. She was born April 18, 1920, in East Chicago, Indiana.
Helen attended Indiana University where she met her husband, Charles A. Wesselman. She graduated with a B.S. in Education and taught kindergarten.
Helen was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ on W. Michigan Street where she taught in the kindergarten classroom for many years, and was active in Ladies Aid and Family Fellowship. Helen played piano and organ and loved music.
Her community involvement included, Opti-Mrs., P.E.O. Sisterhood, AAUW, Family and Children's Services, Board member of Friends of the Library, and Organ Club.
In 1996 she became a resident at Solarbron Pointe and "enjoyed every minute of living there."
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles A Wesselman.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Buschkill (Louis) of Evansville, Nancy Tse (Chris) of Redding, CT, Barbara Gassett (Silas) of Jacksonville, FL and son, Robert Wesselman (Kim) of Boonville; ten grandchildren, Brian, Mark, Karen, and Bethany Buschkill, Peter Deibler, Jill Bekerman, Anne Norton, Sara Freeman, Silas Gassett and Clint Wesselman; six great grandchildren, Jack and Anna Buschkill, Samantha and Sophie Deibler, Katelyn Norton and Helena Freeman.
Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Alexander Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Jeff Long and Rev. Lynn Marino, with burial to follow. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
