Helga was a wonderful, loving daughter, wife and mother. Although she was small in stature, she had a big heart and was an incredibly strong woman. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten. Helga was born August 6, 1938 to Bertha E. Brunn and Tony Hutter in Eberfing Schwaig, Germany. During her childhood years, she was raised by her grandparents and spoke fondly of that time in her life.
She came to the United States when she was 11 or 12 years old and lived with her Mom in Northern Florida. Close to her high school graduation, she met and married Gerald (Jerry) J. George. Together they had three children: Sheryl, Tami and Valerie. Helga and Jerry moved frequently due to his service in the Air Force. When they parted ways, she settled in Central Florida.
Helga later married Curt D. Jolly and his daughter, Joy, became part of her family. Helga and Curt worked together at Valjean Corp. in Indian Harbor Beach and then in Daytona Beach. They both loved the beach and spent many wonderful weekends there with girls. They also dedicated their time to the DAV, where Helga became a lifetime DAV Auxiliary member.
Years after Curt passed away, Helga was at a dance where she met John T. Donohoe, a true Irish gentleman. They eventually married and enjoyed their time together traveling to Ireland and many other places, going on cruises, and visiting their favorite restaurants.
Helga loved music and dancing. She had a passion for gardening and spent many hours tending to her beautiful courtyard. She definitely had a green thumb! She was also a great cook who loved trying new recipes and adding her own touch to them. She made sure to cook her daughters' favorite meals whenever they came home for visits. She enjoyed hairdressing and attended Alamo Beauty College in San Antonio, Texas. She worked in several beauty salons throughout her life.
Helga was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Erika, and husbands, Curt and John.
She is survived by her daughters: Sheryl Wallace, Tami George, and Valerie Richardson (husband Randy); step daughter Joy Donlon (husband Ray); granddaughter Francescka, grandson John, great granddaughter Saylor, step grandson Brian, step granddaughter Katie, and a host of extended family members and friends.
A Visitation for Helga will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US highway 1, Rockledge, FL, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00pm then a Graveside Service will immediately follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
Please join the family after the service for a Celebration of Helga's Life at 4:30pm at Doubles 1896 So. Patrick Drive Indian Harbor Beach, FL.

Our families were closely intertwined and yet there were often long distances between us. But that doesn't change the love and respect that I have for you and your daughters who have been a part of my life for so long. I pray for peace and comfort for Sheryl, Tami and Valerie and joy for you, who have at long last returned to your true home!! May the peace and love of the one infinite creator be with us all!
