Beloved Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother and friend Helga G. Recksiek, 83, passed away June 15, 2013 at Cottonwood Creek Senior Living She was born August 8, 1929 in Herne Germany to Andreas Gaertner and Emma Jebram. She married Werner Recksiek on October 19, 1949 in Bielefeld Germany; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Helga endured a difficult childhood, as she lived through World War II in her hometown of Herne. After she married Werner they immigrated to America in 1950 and established the Mount Olympus Clock Shop in 1959 where she worked at her husband's side until his death. Helga remained a widow for 26 years. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted friend to many and will be sorely missed by them. Helga was a faithful member of the LDS Church and worked for many years in the Family Record Extraction. She is now at peace, relieved from her pain and suffering and experiencing incomprehensible joy with the long awaited reunion with her eternal companion, Werner and her eldest daughter Marian. We will truly miss her and with all of our hearts bid her "Auf Wiedersehen".
Helga is preceded in death by her husband, Parents, Brother Reinhard Gaertner, and daughter Marian Sutherland. She is survived by two daughters Christine (Earl) Prisk of Salt lake City, Utah and Anita (Andy) Mjolhus of Killdeer, North Dakota, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Brighton Hospice for their devoted care, with special thanks to "Lori" her personal nurse, and to her many friends at Cottonwood Creek with special thanks to "Emily, Lisa, and Ben".
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Little Cottonwood 16th Ward 6350 South Rodeo Lane. A viewing will be held at Wasatch lawn Mortuary on Tuesday June 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service.

"She was even a great mother-in-law! Rich Sutherland, son-in-law"
