Henry Adams, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Shepherd; brothers: Bill (Joy) Adams and Charles Adams and one sister, Francis Edwards. Preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Adams. Hank had served as Schererville Town Councilman, St. John Township Assessor, and Lake County Assessor. He enjoyed working and politics. Hank will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave Schererville, IN) with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Interment St. Michael Cemetery in Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00- 8:00 p.m.

Hank fought a tough battle and I am very sorry to see him lose this time. One of Hank's favorite phrases was ”You know I'm not a politician, but if I was I would probably…” Then he would go on to give his advice. The debate is still out on whether or not Hank was a politician, but most would certainly agree that he was a good public servant for many years and those that knew him also were privileged to call him friend.
