Henry Leonard Bean, 67 of Martinsburg, formerly of Hampshire County, passed away Feb. 23, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center. Born Aug. 17, 1943, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late William Chester and Jetty (Shanholtz) Bean. He worked as a mechanic for the Federal Parks Service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 120 and the American Legion Berkeley Post 14, both of Martinsburg. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo (Southerly) Bean, on Oct. 15, 2006. Surviving are two sons, William Leonard Bean, of Hagerstown, Md., and Troy Steven Bean, of Martinsburg; two brothers, Allen J. Bean, of Clintonville, and Donald...
Henry Leonard Bean, 67 of Martinsburg, formerly of Hampshire County, passed away Feb. 23, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born Aug. 17, 1943, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late William Chester and Jetty (Shanholtz) Bean.

He worked as a mechanic for the Federal Parks Service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 120 and the American Legion Berkeley Post 14, both of Martinsburg.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo (Southerly) Bean, on Oct. 15, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, William Leonard Bean, of Hagerstown, Md., and Troy Steven Bean, of Martinsburg; two brothers, Allen J. Bean, of Clintonville, and Donald Bean, of Greencastle, Pa.; two granddaughters, Macalla Marie Bean and Shannan Marie Bean; and his companion, Delores Barber, of Martinsburg.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Moose Lodge 120, 201 Woodbury Ave., Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, D.C. 20004
