Henry J. Cavanaugh, age 88, of Fall River, died July 29, 2014 He was the he husband of Rita May (Kelly) Cavanaugh for the past 66 years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Henry J. Cavanaugh, Sr. and the late Beatrice (Dube) Cavanaugh, he lived in Ansonia and Derby, CT for 15 years, returning to Fall River in the early 1970's. Mr. Cavanaugh was the former Owner and Operator of Valley Fence Co. and C&C Fence Co. in Derby, CT for over 30 years until his retirement in 1982. Henry J. Cavanaugh, age 88, of Fall River, died July 29, 2014 He was the he husband of Rita May (Kelly) Cavanaugh for the past 66 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Henry J. Cavanaugh, Sr. and the late Beatrice (Dube) Cavanaugh, he lived in Ansonia and Derby, CT for 15 years, returning to Fall River in the early 1970's.

Mr. Cavanaugh was the former Owner and Operator of Valley Fence Co. and C&C Fence Co. in Derby, CT for over 30 years until his retirement in 1982. A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II and was a member of the Third Baptist Church of Fall River.

Surviving in addition to his wife: one son: James E. Cavanaugh of Fall River, three daughters: Robin A. Vieira and Lori A. Cambell and her fiancé Ronald Moore all of Blain, PA and Brenda Medeiros and husband Paul of Fall River, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Raymond and Robert Cavanaugh, Rita Cowen and Noella Cordiero. He was father of the late Joanne Cavanaugh and grandfather of the late James E. Cavanaugh, Jr.

His funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 12 noon in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. His family will receive friends from 10:30am – 12noon in the funeral home prior to his service. Burial is private.
