On the few occasions I have met with MG (Ret) Cobb, he has always shown me kindness, as have the late Mrs. Cobb and the rest of the family. May you all be continually blessed.

There wasn't a finer man, than General Cobb. The state and nation has lost one of it's best. He will be long remembered and missed. He was a stand up guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, in this time of their grief and loss.

He was a great soldier, and I only wish I'd been able to serve under him longer! I remember when our command gathered in Birmingham for a formation to honor MG Cobb's retirement. It rained so hard that day that he formation was called off! But that did not dim the accolades for his service!

I had the honor and privilege to serve with Major General Cobb for many years. He was a remarkable commander and a charismatic leader you would follow anywhere. Gen Cobb's first concern was always for the welfare of his troops. He would never ask of a soldier anything he would not do himself. Leaders like MG Cobb are very rare. He will be profoundly missed.

I have great respect for MG Henry Cobb. Formation of 20th Special Fores with Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy and Gov Patterson, when the few Special Forces units were all active duty. was quite an accomplishment. The 20th group, headquartered in Birmingham, with battalions in five states required significant negotiations with five state legislatures, military branches, budgets and other political forces. Henry was a successful businessman, entrepreneur and friend. I will miss having supper with him on the second Tuesday of each month at Golden Rule. he usually sat just to my left.
