DEUBLER Henry Peter Deubler, Jr. was born June 6, 1940 in New Orleans and passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Noon. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran having served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger CVA-61 from 1959-1961. He was a newspaper dealer for The Times-Picayune for 44 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mother of Mercy Council 4030. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan, bowler, vegetable gardener and traveler. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball. Henry Peter Deubler, Jr. was born June 6, 1940 in New Orleans and passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Noon. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran having served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger CVA-61 from 1959-1961. He was a newspaper dealer for The Times-Picayune for 44 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mother of Mercy Council 4030. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan, bowler, vegetable gardener and traveler. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Janet Troyer Deubler, three daughters, Karen Deubler Maier and husband James, Rebecca Deubler Dupuis and husband Michael and Deborah Deubler Sharp and husband Cary Jason (Jay). He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Peter Deubler, Sr. and Maria Portera Deubler and his first born daughter Janet Ann Deubler who died in 1971 at the age of five of leukemia. He is survived by his two grandsons. Philip James Maier and Alexander (Xander) Peter Maier; granddaughter, Amèlie Marie Sharp, and step grandsons, Justin Dupuis and Jonathan Dupuis. Also, he is survived by his sister, Margaret Ann Deubler Sykes and husband Harry as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sincere thanks to all of our friends who supported us through his illness and especially, the doctors and ICU staff at St. Charles General Hospital.
Relatives, friends, employees and associates of The Times-Picayune are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 12:00 Noon officiated by Msgr. Charles E. Duke. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Visitation for family will begin at 9:00 A.M. and friends from 10:00 A.M. to Noon on Wednesday. Guest book may be signed on line at www.schoencanalstreet.com.
