Henry Granados was born in Wilmington to Porfirio and Virjida Granados of Alamogordo New Mexico. He spent his childhood on Dominguez Street, attended Wilmington Park School and was an Altar boy at Holy Family Parish. He later moved to Dominguez Hills and attended Banning High School where he met his future wife, Annie Madrigal. Henry was a World War II Veteran who proudly participated in the Normandy Invasion as a member of the 118 Artillery Battalion. He made five special friends during the war and those friendships lasted a life time. Henry and Annie were married in 1946 and raised their family in Wilmington. He had a thirst for knowledge and became Machinist, Teacher and High School Counselor. He taught at S.C.R.O.C., Wilmington Skill Center, Gardena High School and Huntington Park High School. He was a substitute teacher at several local middle schools after retirement. He often worked two jobs to support his family, sent his son with special needs to school and provided his daughters with a Catholic school education. He was the type of person who found solving Algebra problems and studying English Grammar entertaining. He was an avid cyclist and participated in his last Rosarito Beach to Ensenada bike race at 78 years of age. Riding his bicycle from San Francisco was a trip of a life time. He enjoyed dancing with Annie, his favorite dance partner, in their family room and riding together in their motor home. Giving his great grandchildren rides on his walker brought him joy. He truly enjoyed his family and his home. He is preceded in death by his son Raymond Granados and is survived by his wife of 66 years Annie Madrigal, daughters Theresa (Robert) Rodriguez, Bridget (Eli) Bantiles, Claudia (Steve) Hansen. Grandchildren: Catherine Rodriguez, Stephen (Erin) Lotta, Marisa (Jeff) Lippine, Natalie and Brian Bantiles, Bridget and Erin Hansen; Great Grandchildren Mackenzie and Mason Lippine and Grace and Jamison Lotta; In-laws Eleanor and Lino Urrea, Vera Freeman, Angie and Ernest Martinez and Bob and Gloria Madrigal.
