Henry William Schroeder passed away peacefully in Surprise, AZ on April 12, 2013. Henry was born September 7, 1928 to Esther (Kammann) and Henry Schroeder in Cleveland, WI. He was raised in the Sheboygan, WI area. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Henry obtained a Master's Degree in Agricultural Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a prominent community leader in Verona, WI. He founded Schroeder Publications where he was the Publisher of the weekly newspapers Oregon Observer, Verona Press, Fitchburg Star, Monona Community Herald and McFarland Community Life. Henry William Schroeder passed away peacefully in Surprise, AZ on April 12, 2013. Henry was born September 7, 1928 to Esther (Kammann) and Henry Schroeder in Cleveland, WI. He was raised in the Sheboygan, WI area. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Henry obtained a Master's Degree in Agricultural Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a prominent community leader in Verona, WI. He founded Schroeder Publications where he was the Publisher of the weekly newspapers Oregon Observer, Verona Press, Fitchburg Star, Monona Community Herald and McFarland Community Life. Henry was a dedicated and active Christian Scientist for most of his life. He was a member of the Masons and was a Shriner; member of the Elks, American Legion, Verona and East Madison Optimists; Past President of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and active in the National Newspaper Association. In retirement Henry loved to travel and play golf. He had made his home in the Valley of the Sun for the past two years. Henry is survived by his five children Susan Schroeder, Kathy (Gerald) Duhamel, Joy (Tim Noyes) Fulks, Bill (Judy) Schroeder and Stephen Schroeder. He is also survived by his former wives Dorothy Schroeder and Mary Schroeder. Henry was preceded in death by wife Betty Schroeder in 1988 and sister Lois Kohls in 2012.
