Herbert Forrest, 65, was called home into the arms of the Lord November 15, 2012. Herb will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Grace Church in Des Moines.
He was born January 28, 1947 in Missouri, and moved to Des Moines as a child. At age 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps and retired from John Deere in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pam, daughter, Kim and son, Andy, grandchildren; Hannah, Spencer, Adrian and Jaxson, and brother, Billy. He is also survived by Pam's daughter Danielle, and her children; Mackenna and Matthew, mother in law, Ruth Olson, sisters and brothers in law, Deb and Jim Skelton, Barb and Gerard Gonzalez, nephews and nieces; Jim and Chris Skelton, Emily and Rachel Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his mother Bertha Mahaney, nephew, Billy Mahaney, and father in law, Les Olson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church, 4200 E. 25th St. Des Moines, IA 50317.
