The Adams' family have been connected to/with the Ross' family since 1967. I met beautiful Della at Mather AFB, I invited her to come home with me for coffee and we were instant friends. The following year we were assigned to Ellsworth AFB and the Adams' family showed up and that is when we met Herman, Herman Jr., Charles, Ana, & Yolanda. My family love the Adams' family and we kept showing up at the same place at the same time.
We will miss Herman, I would receive emails from Della's email address sometimes, but was not sure it was from Herman. Thank you for keeping us informed and please stay in touch and may God continue to bless Herman & Della Adams' family! Yolanda Adams

Daddy,

I thought you were invincible and would live forever. As I stood by your hospital bed holding your hand as you passed away, I thought I am no ones child anymore, I am an orphan, what will I do now that both of you are gone. Through the sorrow and heart break a voice said to me "you have the best parts of both of them, you will do what you were raised to do, you are your daddy's little girl and your mothers daughter."

You taught me to stand up for myself, to help others, stand against injustice, and to be forgiving. You were always so strong and full of life, rarely if ever did anything get you down. You always had a smile and cherry hello and alays had something good to say. You carried your own special light wherever you went. My dad loved to travel and had an ability to make friends wherever he went. He loved life and was gifted when it came to dealing with people. He did not just have friends, he had life long friends, some of which became extended family.

His family and friends remember his laughter and generosity of spirit. He loved to laugh and his laughter was loud and contagious. He was an optimist. Despite acknowledging the reality of the minority experience in America he refused to become cynical. He was frustrated by the growing wave of intolerance exhibited in this country but believed that one person could make a difference. He believed there is good in everyone and was trusting, sometimes to a fault.

The joy he felt in achieving the goals he set for himself and his family, and his willingness to share his good fortune, inspired and touched people. He will be missed by the people whose lives he touched and our world is not quite as bright now.

Our hearts are breaking. You were our hero. We carry you in our hearts and know that you are shining as brightly in heaven as you did while you were here on earth.

He missed my mother, the love of his life, so desperately. Now you are together. I have to believe you are at peace.

Daddy, I waant you to know that if not for you...I would not be the person I am today. Throughout everything you were there to hold my hand, to wipe my tears, to heal my wounds, to encourage me, and yes to discipline me when needed. I want you to know that although I did not appreciate your strictness as a child... I do now as an adult. It is because o fyou that I am the person I am today.

You sacrificed for me, yet never complained...You did without so I might have what I needed and desired...Through your sacrifice you have taught me to be giving and that sometimes you have to forego one to get the other. My giving nature and all that I am I owe to you.

You've lived through so much more than children of my generation ever realized. Yet through your strength of character you did not allow it to make you bitter... You suffered the idignities of others in the times of segregation and racism, but sheltered us and taught us to respect others, especially our elders because they, and you, are the ones who have gotten us to today. My character, my respectfulness and all I am I owe to you.

Through your integrity you taught me to be true to myself, to not let others lead me down the wrong paths...to realize and admit when I am wrong... to realize when I am part of the problem and not blame things on others. My integrity and all I am I owe to you.

You taught me not to settle, to always strive for something better, and to do my best no matter what the task... my drive, my ambition, my work ethic and all that I am I owe to you.

Through your strength you taught me how to stand up for myself and showed me how to stand strong in the face of adversity. My strength and all that I am I owe to you.

Through your love you taught me the meaning of love, how to show love... to give love... and to receive love. My love and all that I am I owe to you.

It is in today's world...where there is such disrespect of others...where children are defiant and curse at their parents...where there are those that are not willing to try...where there are those that are all to willing to blame others for their problems... that I see the gifts you have given me and am eternally grateful for these lessons... and wish that everyone could have been raised by a father like you.

You are my role model for love, for strength, for character, for integrityy...You are my role models for life.. You always have been and always will be my hero.

Your death has left an enormous void in our lives. We love you and will miss you terribly.

Love Yolanda, Anastasia, & Charles
