Obituary

Herman J. Epperson, Jr., 82, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home, on the evening of November 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department. Herman was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church where he did a lot of volunteer work; fixing anything that needed repair and helping shut-ins get to church. He loved square dancing, old movies, reading history novels and biographies and was also a member of The Arts Club of Louisville. Herman served his country in the U.S. Navy. Herman J. Epperson, Jr., 82, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home, on the evening of November 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department. Herman was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church where he did a lot of volunteer work; fixing anything that needed repair and helping shut-ins get to church. He loved square dancing, old movies, reading history novels and biographies and was also a member of The Arts Club of Louisville. Herman served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Left cherishing his memory is his wife of 15 years, Louise Schroader Epperson; children; sons, David (Cindy) and Michael (Shannon) Epperson; daughter, Teresa Epperson; sister, Patricia Davison; grandchildren, Eric (Kristin) Kouka, Kimberly Kouka (Chris) Zepeda; Sondra Mehler; four step-daughters, Renee (Denny) Coyne, Rebecca (Rocky) Reynolds, Jacqueline (Tony) Beatrice, Rhonda (Phillip) Jasgarszewski; mother of his children, Bette Epperson; seven step- grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A Life Celebration service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Meadowview Presbyterian Church, 2944 Breckinridge Lane, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. He will lie in state at church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. till service time.
