Born March 18, 1928 in Hoboken, NJ, Skip attended The Pettie School, earned a BS at Ithaca College and received an MBA from Columbia University. He served the US Army in Occupied Japan, famously organizing big band concerts on the deck of his troop ship.

Upon his return to the States, he joined his father's firm, Milligan, Muller, as a CPA, then became a partner at Panell, Kerr, Foster. He served as the Chairman of Ithaca College's Board of Trustees for many years.

An inveterate musician, Skip began playing the upright bass at the age of 11. He played extensively while stationed in Japan; then joined Bill Dunham's "Grove Street Stompers" in the mid-sixties, playing every week at Arthur's Tavern in Greenwich Village for fifty years. The title of the band's 1977 record album "The Oldest Gig in Town" became the title of a film 23 years later, documenting the band's ongoing accomplishments.

Skip was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Club, The Union League Club, The Lake George Club, The Links and Kane Lodge #454, F&AM. He served on the Board of the Kane Lodge Foundation for over 50 years. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Manhattan School of Music; served on the Board of the National Endowment of the Arts, and was Treasurer of a dozen different clubs and groups throughout his career.

Skip is survived by his wife, Evelyn G. Muller, and his grandson, Grayson Muller Cowing.

Friends may visit Tuesday, February 12th, between 5 and 7 PM at Frank E. Campbell's 81st Street and Madison Avenue. Services will be held Wednesday, February 13th at 11 AM at Brick Presbyterian Church, 91st Street and Park Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ithaca College.

"When my father was born, the story was Skip yelled out the window, "I have a little brudder, his name is Robert LeRoy!" That closeness continued right thru..." Bob Muller, Jf (New Canaan, CT)
