Mrs. Waycaster, when I was a little girl, the Highway Patrolmen (Troopers, now) were my larger-than-life, shining heroes. Mr. Waycaster is a wonderful example of why, all these years later, those heroes still brightly shine and will always have my love, respect, and gratitude. I send deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss. You are in my heart and thoughts.

From years past, I already knew the name "Hank Waycaster" when my family moved to Pontotoc in 1990. Mr. Hank sought me out, introduced himself, and recalled his past association with my father, B. S. "Bill" Hood, as their MHP careers coincided from 1950-61. I learned to admire and appreciate Mr. Waycaster. He represented "the best" in what MHP strives for, I believe. Please know my prayers are with you at this time.

One of the best men I have ever known. He exemplified what all state troopers should strive to be like. He put God, Country, and Family above all else. I feel fortunate to have known and served with "Hank". He will be sorely missed.
