Hillery O. Davis, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Austin. He was a man who personified the adage service before self. Hillery proudly served 26 years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He worked 18 years as a Travis County Sheriff's Deputy and was a Mason, Ben Hur Shriner, and a lifelong member of the Manchaca United Methodist Church. He saw the goodness in everyone and loved his fellow man, especially all the members of his family.
Hillery leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 55 years, Rosario Davis; their daughters, Carmen Merica and husband, Edward and Rosa Ann Hunt and husband, James; grandchildren, Davis Merica, Krystina Hunt, and Isabella Guyer and husband, Chase; great-grandchildren, Hunter Guyer and Brayden Guyer; brothers, John Davis and Garvis Davis and their families; sister, Ann Patteson and her family; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
Graveside Services with U.S. Air Force Honors and Masonic Rites will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 21, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park with Rev. Andy Smith officiating.
Jesus said to her "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."

We were classmates of Hillery at Spring Branch High School and attended a recent reunion of our class with him. We so enjoyed that time with him. Please know that our hearts are with you during your time of loss but what a comfort to know we all will see him again. Doug and Sue (Land) Vaughn, Lake Charles, La.

I'm am so sorry to hear of Hillery's passing. Although there is nothing I can say to take away the pain, we are praying that the God who Binds up the brokenhearted and Comforts all who mourn, will sustain and surround you and your family, until you are all together again. Psalm 147:3
