Hoa Tang was born on March 25th, 1946 in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province, Vietnam.
She peacefully passed away surrounded by family and loved ones at 10:47am on Sunday June 22nd, 2014 at the UW Medical Center at the age of 68.
More about her life – After finished high school, she studied and worked at the College of Political Warfare in Da Lat City. She fulfilled one of her dreams and became a news reporter for the largest daily "Trang Den" newspaper in Vietnam. Hoa was very patriotic; therefore, she joined Vietnamese National Police Force and rose to First Lieutenant before the fall of Saigon in April 1975.
Hoa fled Vietnam by boat in 1975 and came to the US to reside in Washington State where she lived the rest of her life. In 1977, she married Mr. Trong Phuoc Tang and had two sons, Dat Tang and Sam Tang. She worked for Tacoma City over 32 years as Financial Assistant and retired in 2011. She was a community activist, a founder and ex-president of Me Linh, the Vietnamese Women Association of Washington State. She was also a member of the Vietnamese Police Mutual Association of Washington State. Hoa was a force of nature and nothing could stand on her way. She was a fierce empress, a Queen B, a great grandma, and great aunt, and the list goes on….
Hoa is survived by her loving husband Trong Phuoc Tang, two grateful sons Dat Tang and Sam Tang, two grandchildren Tien Tang and Nhu Tang, and daughter-in-law Phuong Le. She will be dearly missed by her families and friends.

Please accept my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to Tang Family during this difficult loss.
Mrs. Tang was one of the most unforgettable women who had contributed greatly in the beginning of my life in the United States. I came to this country alone when I was 17 years old as an international student. Obviously, I did not speak any English and unfamiliar with the American culture. She invited me over her home and packed lunch (with rice) once a while…, I truly believe that I am not here today without her. Her advices are still utilized daily. I wish I could meet her once again before she passed.
