Hobert Liang was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was son to Liang Ting York and Ching Sau Fong and brother to Ruby. In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Hanna, his sons Ric and Greg, his daughter-in-law Helen, and his grandsons Jason and Matthew, he is survived by his brother-in-law Dr.Ka-Ping Yue, his nephew Ron, and his nieces Michelle and Sarah.
Hobert was born in Guangzhou China, formerly Canton, and the family moved to Hong Kong when Hobert was quite young. Hobert grew up in Hong Kong and he and Hanna met and fell in love at a young age when they were both in London, England (Hobert there to study architecture). They spent some years travelling between Hong Kong and Gemund, Germany (Hanna's home town). After getting married and having children, they moved to Canada in the mid 1960's. They settled in Vancouver to start, with Hobert working as an architect, and eventually moved to the North Shore. There he began his career as a successful businessman.
Hobert had a number of passions in his life. They included golf, tennis, travel, photography, bridge, classic cars, fishing, and boating; however, his greatest passion was cultivating and maintaining his many relationships with family and friends, both locally and throughout the world. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank all of Hobert's extended family and friends for their support and their special memories during this time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the SPCA.
A Funeral Service will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home (1807 Marine Dr. West Vancouver.) on Saturday September 3rd at 2:00pm.

My condolences to the family, and all other friends of Hobert's. I am very saddened by his sudden departure, but am glad that he left quickly. He was not one to procrastinate. I will feel a great hole in my life where his friendship was, and will miss his laughter.
I hope he is somewhere looking down at us, and seeing the appreciation we all feel for having known him, and having been allowed to be a part of his life.
