Dwight attended North Georgia College for two years, and graduated with BBA and MAcc degrees from the University of Georgia.  He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army for two years, and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Dwight had a 40-year career in public accounting with Deloitte, becoming a partner in 1979.  He managed the Atlanta audit practice for 14 years, served as National Audit Partner for two industries, was a member of the firm’s National Audit Management Committee, and served as Professional Practice Director in Atlanta/Birmingham.  He actively served clients throughout his career as partner, serving as Lead Client Service Partner for large clients such as Cox Enterprises, Bass Hotels & Resorts, John H. Dwight was a faithful servant of his Lord, and actively served on various church finance committees throughout his Christian life.

He was a quiet man whose actions needed no words, and a man of integrity whose generosity knew no bounds.  He was a loving son, husband, son in law, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many.  He was respected by all who knew him.
