Howard William Bryant, 67, of Rustburg, passed away on January 7, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Darnelle Bryant for 45 years. Howard was born in Amherst on February 27, 1942, a son of the late Wilton Haywood and Mattie Marie Bryant. He was a United States Army Veteran and was an avid woodworker. Howard was retired as the Melting Department Supervisor from the Arch Creek Foundry. He was preceded in death by his son, Howard Wayne Bryant. Howard William Bryant, 67, of Rustburg, passed away on January 7, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Darnelle Bryant for 45 years.
Howard was born in Amherst on February 27, 1942, a son of the late Wilton Haywood and Mattie Marie Bryant. He was a United States Army Veteran and was an avid woodworker. Howard was retired as the Melting Department Supervisor from the Arch Creek Foundry. He was preceded in death by his son, Howard Wayne Bryant.
Along with his wife Darnelle, he is survived by his son, Curtis William Bryant, and his wife Jennifer T.; his sister, Sandra Wilson, and her husband Buck; his two brothers: Elwood Bryant, and his wife Linda, and Russell Bryant, and his wife Betsy; his grandchildren: Samantha Marie Bryant, and Sarah Grace Bryant, who were very special to him, and Kayla Lynn Bryant, Matthew Chase Bryant, McKenzie Cheyenne Bryant; and two special nieces Randi and Ryan, and a special nephew Josef, and other numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
