Memorial services for Howard Gordon Crick, 83, of Hanceville will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel in Cullman. Family will visit with friends at the Moss Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. He will be buried at Cullman City Cemetery after the service. Mr. Crick passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30th in his home at Victorian Manor Assisted Living in Hanceville. Mr. Crick is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cullman. Mr. Crick passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30th in his home at Victorian Manor Assisted Living in Hanceville. Mr. Crick is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cullman. Known to his friends and others as H. Crick or Mr. Fix-it, Mr. Crick was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on October 4, 1930 to parents, Louise and John Crick (deceased) and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and studied Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He met his lovely wife, Rita Rae (Williams) Crick, in Indianapolis and they had 2 girls, Nicki Rae Crick (deceased) and Jodi Crick Skinner. In 1981, H moved Rita and Jodi to Cullman, AL when he transferred with Webb Wheel. After retiring from Webb, he started his own company, Mr. Fix-it, where he put his mechanical, carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills to good use repairing and restoring many local homes and businesses. He retired at age 76 and moved to Victorian Manor Assisted Living from their Vinemont home in 2012 at age 82. He enjoyed camping, dancing, reading, traveling and time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rita Rae (Williams) Crick of Hanceville, his daughter, Jodi Crick Skinner, son-in-law, Barry Skinner, grandchildren, Shane William Skinner and Victoria Rae Skinner of Cullman.

The family of Mr. Crick (Papa) wants to thank the staff of Victorian Manor and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care of our sweet patriarch. God bless you all!
