Dear Connie,

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed knowing Howard (and you of course); his periodic phone calls to update our portfolio over the years were always informative and fun! We often talked about raising kids and the challenges therein!
Please know that we are thinking of you. We know that Howard was experiencing several health issues along the way and realized you too, must have faced some very emotional moments.
We hope this finds you surrounded by family and friends for continued strength.

June 23, 2013

Connie,
I am so sorry for Howard's passing. I wish I was close enough to give you a big hug, and let you talk about your life. There is no way I can understand what you have been going through. Nor is there any way to be much help making it better. You are, and have been in my thoughts. Your feelings have to be on a roller coaster. Do not expect to get back to your old self on a timetable. Some days will be OK and then you might suddenly be sad, but you will find a "new" normal at some point. Remember the happy times and don't force yourself. There are alot of us who care and are pulling for you. I remain, Kathie

April 11, 2013

Dear Connie and Kyle,
I want to say how blessed I have felt to have had you and Howard next door and in our family's life (in our family really). I know my parents have already been missing Howard the last months and we will certainly miss hearing his voice boom through the fence when you all are working in the yard. Our political discussions, his unique laugh, culinary savy and great friendship.
I am reminded today of how precious life is and how blessed we are to have the time we do with our loved ones and friends even though it is never long enough.
My prayers are with you. I know this is not an easy time but I also know that you have the spirit to think now about the great things about Howard instead of focusing on grief--that is such a strength. Better than flowers or notes--I offer the best golden retriever in South Florida and my parents--although I know you know they are already there!
Warmly,
Carolyn

April 11, 2013

Connie,
I know Howard will be looking after all of us, but especially you all. I figure Howard already has planned on me helping him with a deck project that of course involves a leaf blower, but I'm sure he explained to the Big Guy I would not be there to help for awhile. We will all miss Howard, his time was too short, but it wasn't uneventful. He knows we will all take care of each other and remember his beautiful smile.
Love,
Marty

Connie, Kyle, and Family

Every time we see a butterfly between our gardens, we'll know Howard is supervising! I'm so thankful we had our 2 trips to the Bahamas and lots of other memories to share. I know how difficult it was to release Howard back to his Father in heaven, but now he is free like you imagined. We will pray for you always as the Lord heals your broken hearts.
Love,
Susan

Dear Connie,
My prayers and thoughts are with you. Janet has told us about you and your husband and the cross you have both carried. It is a blessing that he had a peaceful passing. I am sure Jesus was waiting for him. I am also sure he will be with you as you make it through the next steps of your life. I know how important sisters are as I have a sister who has been my shoulder to lean on. I am sure Janet will be there with you to be your shoulder.

Connie -
Just wanted to let you know Howard and you and your family are in our prayers. Praying that each day brings peace and strength from the Lord to handle all you are going through. You may have read these verses recently. They are some of my favorites:

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13

"Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayers and petitions with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus". Philippians 4:6-7

With love,

April 11, 2013

Connie and Kyle-
"A life is like a song we write in our own tone and key. Each life we touch reflects a note that forms the melody. We choose the theme and chords of the song to hear our own name, and each will have a special sound; no two can be the same. So when someone we love departs, in memory we find their song plays on within the hearts of those they leave behind."
Howard's song for me is the animated, chipper way he'd show up for cleanings. I know he was too busy to want to be there, but he never made me feel that way. I enjoyed our chats and will miss knowing he's not down the hall.
Thoughts and prayers with you both.
Always,
Nancy

April 11, 2013

Dear Connie - When I saw Howard's picture in the paper, it really hit home and I got quite teary eyed. I could see him so clearly in my mind (and hear him too!) as we were having our lively discussions, not only about investments, but lots of "stuff"! I will miss him. He was one of the few people I know who truly loved his job, and did it well with great enthusiasm. I can only imagine how losing him has left a huge hole in the fabric of your life. I so admire your strength and faith. I can promise you with time it will get better, and in the meantime, I like to think of Howard and Paul continuing on with some heavenly discourse!
With fond sympathy,

April 7, 2013

Dearest Connie,

we are so saddened to hear of Howard's departure from us. Both Dan and I very much enjoyed our time with him be it at the baseball field, or wherever. He was such a true character, always full of life, not one of those bla people, but somebody with zest. And so hardworking, and sharing his energy, his brains, his feelings! We truly hope that Kyle learnt much in his short time with his dad. He is so young to lose his dad my heart goes out to Kyle and of course you. Please do let us know if there is anything we can do and I do mean anything. Obviously there are some spatial distances between us but nothing the mail and good intentions can't deal with. We love you and we'll keep you in our prayers, and that kyle stays the course and can deal with his great loss in time.
