Mr. Howard F. Teubner entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2014, following a courageous five year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Howard died peacefully at his home while on Hospice care. Dorothy, his wife of forty-seven years, was at his side. He was born on April 30, 1941 in New York City to the late Howard H. and Leona Teubner, and was the oldest of three siblings. Early on, Howard began a life–long love affair with aircraft and attended New York City School of Aviation in Manhattan. Following graduation he served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He was assigned to an aerial refueling squadron in the Strategic Air Command. He was based in Japan where he began taking flying lessons to fulfill his dream of being a pilot. Returning home to civilian life, he began working for TWA at JFK Airport Hangar 12 and he also earned his private pilot's license. Howard retired from TWA in 1993 after twenty eight years of service. He then attended NYU-Post Campus and attained a bachelor's degree in history. He began a second career as a part time teacher of Aviation Mechanics at BOCES on Long Island. He purchased his own airplane, a Piper Cherokee Six in 1986. He and Dorothy used it to take many trips with friends and family. Howard eventually lost his flight certification due to the effects of the cancer and sold his pride and joy. Howard and Dorothy resided in East Northport, Long Island before relocating to Williamsburg in 2000. Howard's love of history is what drew them to Williamsburg.

Besides Dorothy he is survived by his sister in law Nancy Gonzalez (Tom); his niece Ronni Gallichio (Keith); and two nephews, Nick Potito and Matt Gonzalez (Michelle); and their children; John Potito , Joey and Tommy Gallichio, and Maddie Gonzalez.

A funeral service, with military honors, will be held on June 13, 2014 at 11:00am at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA.
