Icodel Bennett came into this world on Decembe 27, 1939 to deceased parents Dalcie Adina Bennett and Cecil Bennett in the district of Knockpatrick, Manchester Jamaica. She left this world on October 2, 2012 in the afternoon. Ico, as she was known to friends and family, grew up in a large family with numerous relatives close and far. As a youngster, she attended the Ebenezer Primary School in Manchester with her lifelong friend Mrs. Rose Brown. She moved to Kingston in her early-twenties to work and provide for her children. Icodel Bennett came into this world on Decembe 27, 1939 to deceased parents Dalcie Adina Bennett and Cecil Bennett in the district of Knockpatrick, Manchester Jamaica. She left this world on October 2, 2012 in the afternoon. Ico, as she was known to friends and family, grew up in a large family with numerous relatives close and far. As a youngster, she attended the Ebenezer Primary School in Manchester with her lifelong friend Mrs. Rose Brown.

She moved to Kingston in her early-twenties to work and provide for her children. In 1968 she migrated to the United States where she worked initially as a baby sitter. She worked hard and long hours doing domestic work, custodial work, nurse aide, and finally as a medical equipment Sterilization Techician at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She spent much of her working years at The Doctors Hospital, Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat, The Grand Hyatt Hotel, and The Long Island College Hospital.

Icodell believed strongly in education for herself and her children. She provided what she could to encourage her children to seek a better life including striving towards academic excellence. She completed courses in Cosmetology, Certified Nurse Aide, and medical equipment handling and management.

Family members who went home before Icodell are: Sisters- Evelyn Brooks, Ina Burnet, Margaret Bennett, and Salome McLeod; Brothers-Oscar Bennett, Frederick Bennett, and Leslie Bennett.

She is survived by:
Five brothers and sisters: Carlton Bennett (Ja.), Sylvia Dehal (Fla.), Hortence Bennett (Ja.), Walter Bennett (NYC) and Mary Bennett (Greene - NYC);
Six Children: Patsy Lorna Wright, Keith Rexval Francis, Donna Marie Francis, Errol Dean Robinson and his wife Vaughn, Althea Laverne Clarke and Howard Antony Harris;
Nine grandchildren: Sandra Wright (Gandley), Takisha Francis, Tiffany Francis, Sheliza Rosse, Shane Willians, Simeon Zumbeel, Selina Lihl, Rahim Haris, Jaqwane Harris;
Two great grandchildren: Keyonna Pritchett, Caleb Barrett-Francis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry memories of her to the end.

Icodell, we will never forget you! We will always honor you to the end of days.
