IDA AREA, 94, died on March 11, 2013 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living Center of Hixson, Tennessee.
A long time resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Ida was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church of Hixson, Tennessee. She was the wife for 55 years of the late Galen Dee Area.
Ida spent a greater part of her life working in the food business staring as a cook in a luncheonette in Bronx, New York, followed by a sweet job at the Barracini Candy store in Manhattan, New York. After raising her sons in Levittown, New York, Ida worked for Burger King Corporation and after 13 years, she became a manager and then regional supervisor.
Ida is survived by her sons, Ronald Area of Huntington, West Virginia and Steven Area of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters- in- laws, Elizabeth Area and Mary Area; three grand daughters, Amy Maxwell, Melissa Shaw and Suzanne Boyd; three grandson, David Area, Michael Area and Blake Area; four great grand children, Haden Maxwell, Abigail Shaw, Anderson Area and Mason Area.
A memorial service will be 11 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Rivermont Presbyterian Church in Hixson. The family will receive friends from 10 until service time Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made either to Rivermont Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Chattanooga. Burial will follow at Chapman- Black Funeral Home and Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma

Tammy and I send our condolences. I am sure your mother had some great stories to tell RE her varied careers. She sounds like a dynamic individual.
