Idabelle joined Montie for a glorious reunion in heaven on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
She was born the baby girl of a family of nine children on December 4, 1921, to Elvira Finley and WM Forrest Slawson. Idabelle married Montie R. Bunch on June 26, 1939, and they were together for 58 years. While living in Amarillo, they raised six children: Nancy, Ronnie, Sue, Kathy, Linda and Kenny. They moved to Arlington, where she worked and retired from University of Texas at Arlington, as a librarian for 20 years. After her retirement, they moved back to Amarillo.
She was a faithful charter member of the South Georgia Baptist Church, where she taught a ladies bible class for many years. She started many bible study and prayer groups because she was always a witness for Christ and a Christian first. She taught her family the bible, the love of Christ, and his plan of salvation. She studied and knew the bible very well. She will forever be remembered for her strength, laughter, charm, lovingness, kindness, and her ability to teach.
Remembering their mother, and cherishing her memory is Nancy Martin of Odessa, Texas, Ronnie Bunch of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kathy and Robert Perry of Amarillo. She has 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Montie, three of her children, Sue, Linda and Kenny, two sons-in-law, Larry Moore and Charles Martin, a grandchild, Ricky Lynn Moore and a great-grandson, Josh Diaz.
The memorial celebration iss at 11 a.m. today in South Georgia Baptist Church.
