We lost our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother Shuggi, Ilma Dioszeghy on August 29, 2015. She was born Ilma Ana Gabriella Elekes on Sept. 30, 1918 in Nagy Enyed, Hungary to Viktor and Ida Elekes, she was 1 of 4 children, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers Steven & Viktor and one sister Ida. After their mothers death in 1926 the children were all raised by their dear aunt and step mother Ana Elekes. She married Josef Dioszeghy on March 10, 1941 in Kolosvar, Hungary, After WWII they immigrated to the US as displaced persons with their two children in 1949 to live and work on Dr, Edmer Beebe's farm on R. R. 4 Olathe, KS.
Josef also preceded her in death in 1966 after 25 years of marriage. She loved politics and was always up to date on all national & world affairs. She always enjoyed swimming & boating trips to the local Kansas lakes. Her close and immediate family was always her top priority as well as the ones left in Europe.
Ilma retired from King Radio Corp. where she was an assembler after 25 yrs, at the age of 75. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter Ilma K. Duncan & Donnie of Surprise, AZ and her son Joseph L. Dioszeghy and Michele of Olathe, KS, 9 grandchildren, Alisa Zigler & Rob, Victoria Bulat, Katherine Teague & Mike, Sally Berry & Kipper, Ashley Dexter& Matt, Joseph Dioseghy & Jenny, Nicholas & Jackson Dioszeghy & Bria Dioszeghy. She also has 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She lived at 105 E. Mulberry Olathe, KS for 60 years prior to entering the Good Samaritan Home in 2012.
She truly was one of Olathe's Old Settlers.
We love you and will miss you Mother & Grandma Shuggi.

Your Mother was a beautiful lady. I went to Concord School when you first came to the United States and we were all so anxious to meet all of your family. You have a wonderful family. My thoughts and sympathy are with you.

Ilma was my mother-in-law for 18 years.She and I formed a close bond. I have many wonderful memories of our times "all together" and loved hearing stories of her life in the "old country". I was so happy to finally meet some of her Hungarian family. Suggi will be greatly missed.
