Imagene Czerpak, 85, of Monaca, passed on Friday, February 10, 2012 while under the compassionate care of Gateway Hospice and Trinity Oak Personal Care Center. Imagene was born May 13, 1926 in Moon Township, daughter of the late John Bryan and Elsie Helen (Gallagher) McCowin. She retired from Friendship Ridge where she had been a hairdresser for many years. Imagene loved her work and the residents she served. She also went on to enjoy working for Allen's Jewelry and selling real estate. Imagene Czerpak, 85, of Monaca, passed on Friday, February 10, 2012 while under the compassionate care of Gateway Hospice and Trinity Oak Personal Care Center.
Imagene was born May 13, 1926 in Moon Township, daughter of the late John Bryan and Elsie Helen (Gallagher) McCowin. She retired from Friendship Ridge where she had been a hairdresser for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Curtis Grogg and her second husband: Tom Czerpak; her daughter: Barbara Jean Grogg; her son: Rev. John Grogg; two sisters: Helen Kugel and Catherine Majors; and her nephew: Ed Majors.
Imagene is survived by two nephews and their spouses: her nephew who she loved as a son and cared for her through the years: Charles (Virginia) Kugel, Monaca; John (Linda) Majors, Rochester; three nieces: Nancy Gormley, Patterson Township; Janice (Joe) Kander, Brockport, NY; Izzy Majors, Rochester; and her brother-in-law: Fred Kugel, Sr., Beaver.
Friends will be received Monday, February 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m., in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home with her pastor: The Reverend Beth Wierman, officiating. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
