Imogene Schmidt of Columbus, OH passed away at the Forum Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 at 9:30 AM. She was born December 3rd, 1927 in Evansville, IN to Omar and Sylvia (Hudson) Richardson. She married the love of her life, Joe Schmidt, on November 24th, 1949. Known to friends and family as "Jean", she was a devoted military wife, loving mother and grandmother, career woman, and amazing cook. She married the love of her life, Joe Schmidt, on November 24th, 1949.
Known to friends and family as "Jean", she was a devoted military wife, loving mother and grandmother, career woman, and amazing cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two half sisters Winifred and Ruth.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years. Together they devoted their lives to their family; four children Linda Shirk, Bob (Doris) Schmidt, Mary Ann (Jim) Mogan, and Joe Schmidt; nine grandchildren Eric, Mariaha, Jarrod, Jeff, Amber, Lindsey, Courtney, Ryan, and Kaitlyn; and seven great grandchildren Tyler, Issac, Bo, Brett, Zach, Marcus, and Marsquan.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 21 at 9:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, IN 47630. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
