Iona Jaunita Anneler, 91, of Yukon, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2014, at Mercy Hospital. Service will be held 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Oklahoma City, OK.
She was born April 7, 1922, in Crescent Oklahoma, the daughter of Elizabeth and Ernest Wakeman. She was eldest of three daughters and two sons of Elizabeth and Ernest. She married David Rudolph Anneler on August 14, 1945.

Jaunita was a wonderful wife, mother and grand-mother, who will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Jerry Stansel of Escondido, CA; son, David Ray of Yukon, OK; son, Donald of Yukon, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Regina of Ninnekah, OK; grandchildren, Elissa Gibson and husband Robbie of Ramona, CA; Michael Stansel and wife Kelly of Valley Center, CA; Sara Ethridge of Oklahoma City; Phillip and Nikki Anneler of Ninnekah, OK; great grandchildren Taylor and Kayla Gibson; Brayden and Randy Stansel; and brother, Ernest Junior Wakeman and wife Deloris of McLoud, OK. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jaunita was preceded in death by her husband, David, mother and father, sisters Neva Wandell, Wildean Owens and brother Lyle Wakeman.

Known as Mama to her children and friends, she was the center of her children and grand-children lives. She was the ultimate "Sports" Mom for her three sons. David, Donald and Dale. The only girl was the eldest, Rita Kay. For each son she attended every baseball practice, even though many were held simultaneously. She was an avid baseball and football fan, particularly for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs. Loved making the game day trip to watch the OSU Cowboys play football and visited David while he attended school at OSU. She also traveled to Yukon High School games to watch her youngest son, Dale, play.

Jaunita was extremely proud of each and every child and grandchild. She loved and accepted them all and was a present "Mom" to each friend of her children. Never judgmental, even though we probably deserved more than we received. She was the parent, the support, and friend each of us needed. Mom was a positive image and example for us and everyone she met!

Jaunita graduated from Putnam City High School in 1942. She was a lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge at Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). She loved and excelled in needlework and crochet, making afghans for all the kids and grand children. Traveling was a passion and ranged from visiting beaches in California to the cherry blossoms in Washington DC.

The Anneler family would like to extend a grateful thank you to the staff at Mercy Hospital, and to Noval Senior Care. A special thanks to Krista Artherholt who has given Jaunita care the last two years..

"Rita, So sorry you had to say goodbye to your dear mother. Our heartfelt condolences and warmest wishes to you and Jerry." Charlie Hannan (Oshkosh, WI)
