Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ione Vinet Schneider, 93, died in her home on June 15th, 2017. Ione was a native of New Orleans, LA and a long time resident of Old Metairie.
Visitation will be held at ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA Church on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10 am, followed by Mass at 12 Noon and a burial at All Saints Mausoleum. Ione is survived by her husband of 72 years, Henry Schneider; three sons, Larry and wife Teri, Dennis and wife Nancy and Donald; grandchildren Larry and wife Julie, Lauren and husband Gregory, Diana and husband Benjamin, Jeffrey, Ryan, Timothy and wife Kayla; great-grandchildren Jackson, Emma, Ellen, Margaret, Samuel, and Ty Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Jeanne Vinet.
Ione served as Registrar for Archbishop Chapelle High School for 21 years and was a longtime member of the St. Catherine of Siena Church parish community. She was an avid fisherman and cook and was devoted to her faith & family.

The fond memories of Ms Ione will be with us forever as she embarks on her journey to eternal life. She'll be missed, but not forgotten and to the extended Schneider family our thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time.

We are so saddened to have learned that Aunt Ione passed away this past Thursday, June 15. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Uncle Hank, to our cousins Larry, Dennis, and Don, and to all their families. As we reflect, we are so pleased that we were fortunate to have visited with Aunt Ione and Uncle Hank at their home on the occasion of their 70th Wedding Anniversary, a truly remarkable life event. We will always have fondest memories of Aunt Ione.
