Lake Charles- Ira J. "Jack" Spalding, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in his Moss Bluff residence.
He was a Scout Master for The Boys Scouts of America. He worked for the US Post Office for 22 years, and a clerk at Chenault air base. He was in the US Marines during World War II stationed in the South Pacific. He attended Sowela Tech in Carpentry. He was a graduate of Iowa High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 and a half years, Louise Spalding of Moss Bluff; his son Michael J. Spalding and wife Cleo of Columbus, Mississippi, And Step-son Richard E. Gulliory and wife Karen of Moss Bluff; Step-daughter Kathleen Guillory Suydam and husband Robert C. of Moss Bluff.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 3PM at Hixson's Moss Bluff Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 PM until service time. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
