Irene Brent of Raymond passed away on November 15, 2012, at the age of 85. Mrs. Brent was born in Puckett, the daughter of Guy and Lillie Mae Kennedy. She grew up in Brandon. In 1947, she married Bill Brent and moved to Raymond, where they owned and operated Brent's Grocery for 34 years. Mrs. Brent is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brent and her brother, Dan Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bath (Chuck) of Raymond, her son, Ed Brent, of Hernando, her granddaughter, Laura Love Harris (Randall) of Raymond, her grandson, Brent Ratliff (Mandy) of Germantown, Tennessee, her granddaughter, Ashley Rodgers (Jim) of...

Mrs. Brent was born in Puckett, the daughter of Guy and Lillie Mae Kennedy. She grew up in Brandon. In 1947, she married Bill Brent and moved to Raymond, where they owned and operated Brent's Grocery for 34 years.
Mrs. Brent is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brent and her brother, Dan Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bath (Chuck) of Raymond, her son, Ed Brent, of Hernando, her granddaughter, Laura Love Harris (Randall) of Raymond, her grandson, Brent Ratliff (Mandy) of Germantown, Tennessee, her granddaughter, Ashley Rodgers (Jim) of Hernando, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Tigrett of Brandon and Ottris Hall of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 16 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond and on Saturday, November 17 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a service immediately following at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
